The Trillion Dollar Debate Behind Trump’s New Energy Executive Order: Global Warming Real or Not
On March 28, President Trump issued his promised executive order, which did away with the regulations on traditional energy development by former President Obam. Trump triggered wide speculation of what is his next move: US withdraw from Paris Pact? And if so, would all the efforts to curb Global Warming come to a halt?
While liberals blame Trump’s for his “reckless” move to value job more than the Earth, the fact of the matter is, Trump still firmly holds that Global Warming is a hoax, with a ground.
Whether the hoax was started by Chinese or not, in the field of science, the debate over the topic has never been from from over.
Since 1990, Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change under United Nations have issued 5 reports, most recent of which is in 2014, all concluding that the Global Warming is real and gets only stronger. Earth has seen sea level rise, ice plains in Greenland and Antarctic shrink, snow coverage in North Hemisphere decrease, drought expand and etc. The Global Warming alarmists keep beating the drum: if no action today, it would be too late!
However, what are the most powerful counterpoints to this alarm?
1. History tells us that a warmer or colder Earth existed at diffferent phases in time. From 950 to 1250, earth entered Medieval Warm Period, during which Greenland has little show and colonists built ports there. However, during 1300 to 1870, earth experienced its “Little Ice Age”, during which Thames River was covered with thick ice with people dancing on it, Greenland lost almost all its residents and live stock due to freezing cold, and hundreds of settlers in Jamestown in the New World perished in unbearable winter.
Earth has its way of experiencing warmth or coldness. As for why, at least the Medieval Warm Period saw no industrial output of excessive CO2.
2. Liberals like to argue that since the fluctuation chart of CO2 in atmosphere coincides with that of earth temporature, both are strongly correlated, and thusly the increase of CO2 would lead to higher temperature.
However, a closer examination of the charts tell us that temporature change preceeds the change of CO2. So, it is that “change of temperature leads to change in CO2″, not the other way around.
3. To examine the change of the Earth’s temperature, one should look at the biggest “influencer”: the Sun. Close analysis of the change of sun spots shows a close corelation with change of Earth’s temperature, and when Earth gets warmer, it causes the ocean to release CO2, amount of which is much larger than what human generates.
4. If increase of CO2, caused by greenhouse gas generated by the industrial activities, would lead to global warming, then why during 1945-1970, Earth got colder? During that time, the industrial activities reached a new height globally after the end of World War II.
When Martin Durkin, a British TV producer, produced the award-winning film of “The Great Global Warming Swindle” in 2007, it only highlights the doubts about the Global Warming even stronger.
We will watch the debate continue until we see the final truth.
