Abortion clinics are closing. Slowly, we’re winning.

(Before It's News)

In 1991 there were 2,176 surgical abortion clinics in America. Without getting graphic, in each of those places physical butchery of unborn babies (and sometimes born ones) was happening as a stated purpose.

That number is falling fast. By 2009 we were down to 713, and with the Republican waves in 2010, we’ve managed to claw that number down even further, to 553. Left-wing extremists have been moaning about effective abortion bans in this country by the closing of clinics. They’re right. We’re winning.

I know there’s a long way to go. But thanks to continuing social pressures, legal reforms, and tireless efforts by activists to highlight crime and abuse, we are actually driving a great many abortionists out of business. Given that their business is legalized murder, that’s good news.

Operation Rescue is checking the figures every year. Why was Wendy Davis so hysterical? Well as OR says, “The greatest number of closed facilities took place in Texas as the result of the 2013 abortion law known as HB2. Eleven surgical and three medication-only facilities shut down permanently over the course of 2014.”

This is particularly important for purely practical reasons. Remember when the left freaked out over mandatory ultrasounds? That’s because they know that every time a pregnant mother has a chance to stop and think, she has a chance to make the right decision and not go for an abortion. So the fewer abortion facilities there are, and the more effort pregnant women must make to actually travel to one and commit the act, the fewer of them will actually follow through with the abortion.

Courageous activists for life can achieve much even without overturning the Supreme Court. That is why the betrayals by alleged pro-lifers like Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC)Heritage ActionScorecardRep. Renee Ellmers51%House Republican AverageSee Full Scorecard51% must be pushed back against. Her position is hard to distinguish from that of Wendy Davis, in her votes and actions. She and others who aid her must be held accountable.

The numbers prove it. If we fight, we can win. So let’s fight.
