(Before It's News)

The US-appointed Ukrainian President plays the victim and says he has no more to do than to negotiate with Putin. The President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, said his country is in a real “war” with Russia and that Ukrainians should prepare for a Russian offensive. Poroshenko said he did not trust his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, but that he has no choice but to negotiate with him. Russia has denied Western accusations that claim the Kremlin sent troops to help the pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine, while the UN has indicated that 6,000 people have died since the start of fighting in April 2014. “I can be absolutely clear with you, this is not a fight with Russian-backed separatists, this is a real war with Russia. The fact that we captured Russian special forces is a strong proof of this,” Poroshenko said. As in other ocassions, Ukraine has not been able to prove that Russian soldiers have ever crossed into Ukrainian territory or that Russia is directly aiding rebel forces in Eastern Ukraine. The Poroshenko government has show images of men who they say are Russia Special Forces who have allegedly confessed to being members of the Russia Army, but such claim cannot be confirmed independenly. Ukraine has not published the documents or video of the supposed Russian soldiers admitting their role in Ukraine. The US-appointed leader added that he believes that Russia is preparing an offensive, so “we must be prepared,” but, he stressed that Ukrainians should not do anything to provoke the Russians. “That will be their full responsibility,” he stressed. Poroshenko at war with his own people While Poroshenko tries to make the Russian ‘bogeyman’ scarier, the Kremlin said today that the Government of Ukraine is at war with its own citizens, and not Russia, as stated by the Ukrainian president, Petro Poroshenko. “In the Kremlin we do not agree with the words of the Ukrainian president. First, it should be noted that Kiev, unfortunately, is waging a war against its own citizens,” said the Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He added that “they shot their own citizens.” Peskov replied to Poroshenko, who in an interview with the BBC said that in the eastern regions of the country there is a war going on with Russia. “This is not a fight with Russian-backed separatists, this is a real war with Russia,” said the Ukrainian president. Poroshenko said that the proof is in the tens of captured Russian soldiers in the conflict zone. “What more evidence can we will present to Russia than their own soldiers? He asked. Russia has repeatedly denied accusations from Kiev and the West that has it sent troops to eastern Ukraine to help pro-Russian rebels in Lughansk and Donetsk. According to Poroshenko, the conflict, which erupted in April last year has caused nearly 7,000 deaths among civilians and 1,800 in the ranks of government forces. Most, if not all of the civilian deaths have been caused by Ukrainian weapons that have been shot at innocent men, women and children. Despite the high toll, Poroshenko does not seem to want an end to the conflict. Instead, his government has accused two men of terrorism, without preseting any hard proof. These men were captured on Sunday in the east of the country, reported Markiyan Lubkivski, advisor to the head of the Ukrainian Security Service. “We inform you that on May 19, two soldiers of the Armed Forces of Russia, Captain Yevgeny Yerofeyev and Sergeant Alexander Alexántrov, were told personally that they are suspected of involvement in terrorist activities,” said Lubkivski on his Facebook account. According to the Ukrainian authorities, both men have confessed to being active military of the Russian Army. Read the rest below at the source link
