A law prohibiting New Hampshire voters from displaying their marked ballots on social media appeared in jeopardy Monday when a federal judge suggested that its only real effect is the suppression of free speech.
The restriction was added last year to prevent vote-buying and voter coercion, which prevailed mostly in the 1800s, before the adoption of secret ballots.
