Woman On New $10 Bill Will Replace Alexander Hamilton

A woman will soon appear on the new $10 bill. The face of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton currently adorns the currency. The Obama administration approved the change in what is reportedly an effort to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the right of women to vote. The new $10 bill bill be unveiled in 2020.

The woman on the new $10 bill will be chosen after a public campaign to garner input, according to the U.S. Treasury Department. Alexander Hamilton is regarded as the founder of the United States’ financial system and was the Secretary of the Treasury. Hamilton also served as the chief staff aid to General George Washington during the Revolutionary War and advocated for a national currency to be created in America.
