Barack Obama plagiarizes the Onion.
Well, I can’t call it ‘Life imitates the Onion,’ now can I? This is just straight-up ripping off. From the Onion, July 14th:

In a phone conversation between the two leaders Tuesday, Netanyahu did not respond to the offer, said the official, who requested anonymity.
Seriously, the administration ended up doing EXACTLY what the Onion predicted that they’d do:
…only apparently Benjamin Netanyahu didn’t take the offer (which the Onion most assuredly did not predict*). Left unsaid was whether the phrase Geh kak afen yam was uttered at any time during that phone conservation. Probably not: proper Yiddish would be wasted on this President, anyway.
