07/15 no right to remain silent, mr. president!
President Barak Obama made heartfelt and moving statements regarding the deaths of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, and rightly so. A violent death for a young man is always a tragedy.
Well, I guess not–not if you are President Barak Obama. The son of James Shaw, Jr. gunned down by an undocumented immigrant, gets no presidential statement. Neither does Lupe Moreno, who’s family was victim of a similar crime. Same goes for Sabine Durden, whose 30-year-old son was killed by a driver who was an undocumented immigrant from Guatemala.
Obama has NO RIGHT to remain silent on these deaths, and by doing so he has proven himself another political driver of the racial hatred and division he was in a unique position to help overcome. Shame on you, Mr. President.
