The VA is Still Killing Our Vets

(Before It's News)

Fellow Conservative,

Let this statistic sink in for a while: More than one-quarter of all veterans currently waiting for medical care at the VA have already passed away.

There are around 847,000 veterans on a waiting list to see a doctor or specialist at the VA. When the Department of Veterans Affairs did its audit, it found that 28% of the veterans on waiting lists – more than 238,000 vets – had already passed away while waiting to see a doctor.

This is absolutely shameful. For every four veterans that ask to see a doctor, one of them dies without ever being cared for.

Mind you, the only reason we know this is because the audit documents leaked to the public. If the Obama administration got its way, we wouldn’t even know this yet.

Make no mistake: this isn’t just a Democrat problem. Republicans are equally to blame. If you’re only interested in making this a partisan issue, then I don’t really have anything left to say to you.

But if ¼ of veterans dying is too much for you to handle, then I beg you to raise your voice and demand more Congressional action!

VA incompetence is literally killing our vets. Demand that Congress protect our veterans immediately!

Last August, Congress passed a bill allowing veterans to seek medical care outside the VA if the waiting lists were too long. Here’s the problem: the Obama administration raided the voucher program and moved the funding elsewhere. On top of that, many doctors simply refuse to treat the veterans because they have no guarantee they’ll be paid.

Right now, the VA is turning away thousands of veterans. Those who aren’t turned away are still waiting on near-endless lists. And as this leaked data shows, more than ¼ of veterans on the waiting lists die without ever being cared for…

No other country would accept 1 in 4 veterans dying while waiting for medical care. We are failing these vets.

Right now, only 7.3% of all living Americans served in the military at some point in their life. Even if you add family members, the number of Americans intimately affected by the VA is still relatively small.

When the US had the draft, every American family had some connection to the military. Each family had a personal incentive to make sure that veterans received the medical care they had earned. That’s not how it is today.

But just because the majority of Americans have no connection to the military doesn’t change the fact that these servicemen and women are still our brother and sisters, sons and daughters. And they deserve our help and support.

As we speak, Congressmen and Senators are planning their next vacations. In a month, they are going to leave town and unless you raise your voice right now, American veterans will get no relief.

Every day we wait means more veterans who are dying without ever receiving medical care. And that is unacceptable.

Raise your voice now and DEMAND that Congress stop the VA from killing our veterans!

Sincerely,

Joe Otto
