Five-year-old Rahma lies unconscious in the intensive care unit of the 22 May Hospital in Yemen’s southern city of Aden. Iranian FM Urges S. Arabia to Review Policies on Yemen

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called on the Saudi officials to revise their policies on Yemen and stop aggression against the poor Arab nation.

“We hope that certain regional states to review their polices, specially on the events happening in Yemen. We are ready for interaction and negotiations with these countries whenever they are prepared as good neighborliness has always been a principle (of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s policy) since the very beginning,” Zarif told reporters in the Central city of Isfahan on Thursday.

“Basically, we don’t see any limitation for the establishment of relations with the regional states and no neighbor should feel it is threatened beside Iran as the (nuclear) agreement (between Tehran and the world powers) has obviated the threat against the region,” he added.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 155 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 5,529 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
