While people pull their hair off their skulls trying to find a way to deal with the massive influx of Africans and Middle Eastern immigrants who arrive in Europe North America and South America, I would like to point out two aspects that have not been considered by very few people. The fact is that the most powerful causes of immigration are two: lack of basic living conditions and/or a newly found attraction to a different culture. No one likes to abandon their country of origin and family to move elsewhere unless they must do so due to lack of basic living conditions or because they feel more identified with a different culture than their own. Those who seek to make a life for themselves because their needs are not being met at home do have a compelling reason to do so. People who flee war-torn countries have all the right in the world to seek a better place to call home. But it is important to remember that they do not do so willingly. Instead, it is an option of last resort. It is a matter of life and death. This situation is seen in places like Yemen, Syria, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt and so on. All those countries have two things in common: One, their governments are either puppet regimes of western imperialists, or two, they function as military dictatorships. Both options are far from being optimum for harboring life. Cultural awareness also compels people to move far from home. They feel more identified with a culture, a language or a general living situation which results in them moving away from their birthplace. While moving abroad due to cultural awareness is often more pleasant than doing so due to war, hunger, drought or oppression, both types of migration have a considerable impact on those who migrate. When immigration occurs as it is happening now in Europe, the United States and even South America, it places a strong burden for people whose nations are being forcefully invaded by helpless migrants. The forced entrance of thousands or tens of thousands of people a month is not an example of a melting pot, but that of a force that causes balkanization and social unrest in any country. A strong burden is also placed on the social and political institutions of those nations, as they must deal with the challenge of accommodating or rejecting people, who for the most part, arrive as refugees of war. There is a price to pay whether or not countries accept or reject thousands of refugees a month. If accepted, the economic and social burden on countries that are not physically and/or logistically capable of taking them in, which turns the arrival of immigrants into an unmanageable situation. On the other hand, if they reject part or all of those seeking asylum or who want a refugee status the decision is wrongfully seen as racist and inhumane. The question is, where does a country draw a line when it comes to fulfilling its duties and responsibilities towards its own people? When should a government sacrifice its duties and responsibilities towards its citizens to help tens of thousands of immigrants who do need help? This paradigm brings us to the actual origin of the rapidly worsening immigration problem: Western countries attempts to secure African and Middle Eastern resources for their own survival, as supposed to encouraging proper development in those regions. Bombing a country to bring about democracy is the usual excuse to exploit developing countries’ land, people and resources. A more humane approach to development would undoubtedly avoid the kind of mass immigration that we see today, however, the leaders of powerful western nations are not interested in bringing development to Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan and other nations that have been invaded under false pretenses. What the leaders of Germany, the United States, England, France, Italy, Israel and all of their allies want is to prevent development in the third world while reducing the population and securing natural resources which they then distribute among themselves. This is the reason why we are facing the largest migration since WW I and WW II. In fact, these migrations are a prelude to the next global conflict.
