Yesterday, I posted on a Monmouth University poll that shows Hillary’s support collapsing, she commands 42% of the vote by has lost nearly 1/3 of her supporters since April.

Today, Quinnipiac University released a poll showing that Bernie Sanders has caught Clinton and may very well be in the lead in Iowa.

Bernie Sanders leads the former secretary of state for the first time among Iowa Democrats likely to caucus in February, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll unveiled Thursday morning — the latest in a string of surveys that show a tightening race in the Hawkeye State.

The Vermont senator’s advantage is within the margin of error — he took 41 percent compared with Clinton’s 40 percent — and another 12 percent said they would support Vice President Joe Biden, who has yet to declare his 2016 intentions. (Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley picked up 3 percent, while no other candidate registered above that mark, and 3 percent were undecided.)

This poll of likely caucus goers shows just how widespread the dissatisfaction is in the Democrat party with Clinton’s coronation. At a time when people in both parties are screaming ENOUGH!! both parties are trying to foist off last week’s fish as the fresh new thing. And both parties are encountering a similar reaction.

Up until now, Clinton has acted as though Sanders would go away if she ignored him (this is essentially the Jeb Bush strategy for dealing with Donald Trump). But as her ongoing criminal enterprise gets more daylight, even hard core Democrats are finding it difficult to suppress their gag reflex and support Clinton. Now Clinton has started sending surrogates out to take shots at Sanders:

“When you’re facing a challenger who is surging and has low negatives, the notion that you would try to put a little cloud over his image makes a lot of sense,” said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion. “To have Hillary do it would be beyond the pale. But you can’t let Bernie jog around the track by himself picking up support.”

Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf added, “When you attack someone in politics it is a sign of fear. Whether coordinated or not, these supporters of Hillary Clinton now attacking Bernie Sanders are obviously worried about Clinton’s future as Sanders popularity and voter interest in him rise.”

But the heavily gloved slap-fight the Clinton proxies are carrying out is not going to change the dynamics of the race. She has to take Sanders out or he is going to win the nomination. If she does take him out, Joe Biden is still waiting in the wings.
