(Before It's News)

Many people around the worl from American politicians to journalists and global leaders question the effectiveness of the UN.  The organization is 70 years  old–quite elderly in human years.  It is to old, too slow, and much too irrelevans, others say.

 According to al Aribya:

When the United Nations was established 70 years ago, the foundations of the modern world were laid.

And for seven decades, the U.N. remained fundamentally unchanged, with its Charter acting as the key document determining the way the international community functions.
