Doctors without borders “disgusted” by Afghan government statement – YouTube
Doctors Without Borders has sharply criticized the Afghan government’s efforts to justify Saturday’s US airstrikes on a hospital in the northern city of Kunduz.
The international medical charity said it is “disgusted” by the Afghan government’s statement that claimed armed terrorists were positioned in the hospital. The group slammed the remark as an “admission of a war crime.” The charity, also known as the M-S-F, says the hospital was repeatedly and precisely targeted, while the rest of the compound was left mostly untouched. It insists that no M-S-F staff member had reported any fighting inside the hospital compound prior to the airstrikes. The group re-iterated its demand for an independent investigation by an international body. At least 22 people, including 12 M-S-F staff, were killed in the Saturday airstrikes. The UN has called the attack inexcusable and possibly even criminal.
