Hillary Clinton privately babbles about AK-47s in the supermarkets!
My friend and colleague streiff at RedState generally berated these anti-gun comments by Hillary Clinton earlier today, but I want to really drill down on something – look, I know that too much belief in gun control apparently causes neurological degeneration, but this is absurd.
Hillary Clinton slammed the Supreme Court as “wrong on the Second Amendment” and called for reinstating the assault weapons ban during a small private fundraiser in New York last week, according to audio of her remarks obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

“The idea that you can have an open carry permit with an AK-47 over your shoulder walking up and down the aisles of a supermarket is just despicable,” she said.
…The AK-47 – and, having listened to the audio; that’s what Hillary Clinton said – is a fully automatic weapon. Let me put it this way: if you legally own a fully-automatic rifle like, say, the AK-47 (and you can actually do that, in some parts of the country), you are not going to be carrying it to the supermarket, largely because it is a vintage item that cost more than your car. For that matter: your fingerprints and photograph is on file at BATFE. You have undergone a background check with the FBI. You are, in other words, highly unlikely to suddenly snap and start shooting people.
Hillary Clinton either knows this, and is deliberately conflating the AK-47 with the AR-15 (a semi-automatic rifle that LOOKS REALLY SCARY TO LIBERALS, MAN) because she knows that her audience is dumb enough to buy it; or she doesn’t know this, because she is as dumb as her audience. Take your pick! Either way, Hillary Clinton’s just wrong. And saying stupid things that will only get the desired reaction from people who are themselves stupid.

PS: There is no longer any such thing as a private event where one may speak freely. Too many recording devices, too much incentive to get a recording. You can either move with the times and accept that you’re always on the record, or you can get caught telling stupid lies to people who want to hear them. There is no third option.
