(Before It's News)

Well, Mr. Jesse Jackson was in my home state of Alabama again on Oct. 6, 2015. Here is the link to the story for context: http://www.wbrc.com/story/30202837/reverend-jesse-jackson-plans-to-fight-decision-to-close-dmv-offices.

I actually met Mr. Jackson once in the early 1990s. My boss asked me go in his place to have a picture taken with him and others at a rally. I heard him speak at another time as well. Writing as a pastor, I don’t think he has any business having “Rev.” in front of his name, and I don’t appreciate how he handles our racial problems. It is very one sided in my opinion. I have never read that he and Mr. Al Sharpten spoke against Black on White violence and discrimination, and believe that Mr. Jackson, Mr. Sharpten, and the Lamestream Media have made the problem much worse. Racism if we are referring to discrimination, is sin. The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross and paid the penalty of sins for people from all nations, kindreds and tongues. We’re all the same at the cross. The Lamestream Media, Mr. Jackson, Mr. Sharpten and some others would like for us to think that discriminating against white people (ever hear of Affirmative Action?) is acceptable as a type of repayment for the days of slavery. Sadly, we will battle this sin of discrimination until we receive our resurrected bodies. In the mean time, we do what we can by the grace of God to not disciminate and remember that we are to forgive others as Christ forgave us.

As far as the above reference article goes, the state has the right and needs to make spending cuts. I question whether closing that many driver license centers is the answer though. We need to make cuts in the right places. But if that is the route Alabama goes, then they (actually, we) have the right to close the driver license centers that saves the most money without impacting adequate service (hey, they closed the one 3 miles from us 2 years ago). It will not affect people getting their voter identifications. Just as with the driver licenses, people just don’t want to have to drive further and stay in longer lines.

But while the article does not deal with the following directly, I just find it interesting that the reason why so many African Americans may be affected by the driver license center closures, is because of Affirmative Action. Affirmative Action became (some years ago) a form of discrimination. Therefore it is sin, and we need to stop now. Employers need to hire the most qualified people that apply, regardless of their skin color, age, religion, and sex. Let’s look to our perfect example the Lord Jesus Christ to solve our problems, instead of Affirmative Action, Mr. Jesse Jackson and Mr. Al Sharpten. Because the latter 3 are not helping much if at all, but making it worse. Soli Deo Gloria!
