Pro-Russia forces accuse Ukraine of shelling their position in Donetsk – YouTube
Pro-Russia fighters in eastern Ukraine have accused the government of shelling residential regions under their control with heavy weapons.
Local media in Donetsk say Ukrainian forces launched multiple Grad rockets in the northern parts of the restive region on Thursday and Friday. Ukrainian officials blame pro-Russia forces of violating a ceasefire reached in September. This comes as the German foreign minister says the two sides have agreed to completely withdraw heavy weaponry form their frontlines in Donetsk by December. Frank-Walter Steinmeier made the remark after a meeting with his Russian, French and Ukrainian counterparts in Berlin. The top officials discussed progress in implementing a peace deal reached in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk in February. Under the deal, Ukrainian government forces and pro-Russia fighters must pull out heavy weapons from the conflict zone. It also calls for constitutional reforms in Ukraine by the end of this year. More than eight-thousand people have been killed in the Ukraine crisis since April 2014.
