Ever since the bodies stopped falling in Paris on Friday night (US time) and the left began to see the damage done to their master plan to create a “multi-cultural” Europe and United State — a hell-hole replete with female genital mutilation, rape gangs, honor killings, and police no-go zone –by infusing several hundred thousand “refugees” of dubious provenance, they have been lashing out at anyone opposed to their scheme and labeling them bigots or islamophobes or whatever.

One of the memes they have pushed is this:

It was picked up and magnified by an America-loathing Democrat* (but, hey, I repeat myself), Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-CA) 9%.

“Along the lines of being a nation of immigrants, we must underscore that we respect and understand the need to be accepting of refugees into our country — people who by definition as refugees must show that they fear death or persecution in order to have an opportunity to come into this country; 750,000 refugees have been resettled in America since 9/11. Not a one has been arrested on domestic terrorism charges in the United States of America.”

Really?

A federal jury in Idaho has convicted an Uzbek refugee of three terrorism-related charges after prosecutors said he worked to support a terrorist organization and gathered explosive materials in his Boise apartment.

Fazliddin Kurbanov, a Russian-speaking truck driver who fled Uzbekistan in 2009, was arrested two years ago by federal authorities who said he was determined to carry out an attack on U.S. soil. Prosecutors also said he tried to provide computer support and money to the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, which the U.S. government has identified as a terrorist organization.

How about the Boston Marathon bombers, Tamerlan and Dzhokar Tsarenev. Both were admitted to the United States as refugees. The virulently left-wing site, Snopes.com, is doing its best to cloud the issue by claiming that they were awarded political asylum and, therefore, were not refugees. The US government disagrees:

Asylum status is a form of protection available to people who:

  • Meet the definition of refugee
  • Are already in the United States
  • Are seeking admission at a port of entry

The Washington Post looks at this and finds:

A State Department spokesperson said of the nearly 785,000 refugees admitted through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program since 9/11, “only about a dozen — a tiny fraction of one percent of admitted refugees — have been arrested or removed from the U.S. due to terrorism concerns that existed prior to their resettlement in the U.S.  None of them were Syrian.” The spokesperson declined to specify what exactly the security concerns were, how many of the dozen were arrested, and for what charges.

This statement is as significant for what it doesn’t say as what it does. Most of the 785,000 refugees admitted are not from nations with a vigorous history of terrorism, that is, Islamic nations. And by conflating “all refugees” with “refugees who have a high likelihood of being terrorists” the water is muddied. The federal government doesn’t make it easy but based on available reports, it seems safe to say that under a quarter of this 785,000 originated from the Middle East and most of those are Iraqis. And, of course, none were Syrian because Obama’s great adventure in Syria didn’t begin until 2011.

The claim that no refugees have been involved in terrorism is rated FALSE and DUPLICITOUS we award this claim Four Headies:

*I say “America-hating” because in a previous life I attended several events and functions where Becerra and staff were present, anytime the National Anthem was played or the Pledge of Allegiance was said they made a production of disdaining the proceedings.
