Plane disappears from radar after leaving San Jose's Reid-Hillview Airport | 20 Dec 2015 | Officials are investigating after a single-engine plane out of San Jose's Reid-Hillview Airport went missing Saturday afternoon near Bakersfield. The single-engine Piper PA32 disappeared from radar at about 4 p.m. about 10 miles south of Bakersfield, FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said. The FAA has begun the search and rescue process, Gregor said.
