I am going to share with you the latest fundraising email from the Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) 89% campaign. We’ve all been busy discussing the Cruz v. Rubio feud lately, and whether the behavior of the two candidates is appropriate towards each other. Into this void steps Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) 89%.
Now, I thought Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) 89% had a pretty good debate – easily his best one of the year, in fact. I said so immediately after the debate was over. But this fundraising email is pretty disgusting.
In it, Paul sets forth the idea that the fact that the media reporting his attacks on other Republicans constitutes “momentum.” News flash for Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) 89%, in case he doesn’t understand how this game is played (and he does) – the media is always happy to report infighting among Republicans, and the more vicious and personal the better.
The fact that the media acts in exactly the way you would expect them to given that you attacked other candidates isn’t momentum, it’s evidence that you’re playing useful idiot for people who want the Republican party to fail. Here is how the email, which is titled “Headlines just minutes after…” opens:
Dear Leon,
“Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) 89% Blast Trump, Rubio in Opening Statement” — Newsmax
“Paul: Christie ‘World War III’ Candidate” — The Hill
“Paul: Rubio has ‘allegiance’ to liberals on immigration” — Washington Examiner
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) 89% nicks Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 94% on immigration — Politico
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) 89% calls Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 94% the ‘weakest’ candidate on immigration” — The Week
Those were the news headlines from just minutes after Tuesday night’s debate in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This is absolutely ridiculous on Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) 89%‘s part. His campaign is flagging, CNN violated their own rules just to get him on the debate stage, he’s wildly in debt, and he used the opportunity to brag about how good he is tearing other Republicans down? Time for Rand to get out of the race.
