This doesn’t mean that the attack was terrorism, per se. In fact, it seems counter-intuitive that shooting up a holiday luncheon would make the kind of statement al Qaeda or ISIS would want to make. A shopping mall or government building, sure, but a holiday luncheon? It smacks of lack of imagination for the crowning achievement of one’s life.
As I noted earlier, California has some of the most stringent gun control laws in the nation. I have yet to see any authoritative information on the weapon used. I’ve seen both AR-15 and AK-47 mentioned and both of those are illegal to own in California… getting back to the folly in thinking laws will deter criminals.
