Hillary Clinton Calls On Obama To End Immigration Raids

(Before It's News)

Someone really ought to tell Hillary Clinton that pandering condescension is just as offensive to Latinos as it is to white people. In yet another embarrassing effort to garner Latino votes, Hillary Clinton has now spoken out about the DHS immigration raids that began on New Year’s weekend.  Honestly, this is worse than the borderline racist “Hillary Clinton is Just like your Abuela” campaign.

Surprisingly enough, the timing of her message coincided with her appearance at Iowa’s “Brown and Black Forum.”  The forum dates back to 1984 and allows each Democratic candidate a chance to specifically address minority voters and take questions from the audience and the press.  In the weeks leading up to her appearance at the forum, Clinton had not taken a real stance on the raids.

The first DHS round up at the beginning of January totaled at least 121 people and occurred in Texas, North Carolina, and Georgia.  These individuals crossed the border illegally and had remained in the country after a judge had already ordered them to leave.

Clinton called on the Obama administration to cease the illegal immigrant round-ups planned, and also requested that attorneys be provided to the unaccompanied minors rounded up in the raids.

For the record, the government is not obligated to provide an attorney to any illegal immigrant, but in the past few years, there has been some funding for the government to provide attorneys to some of these children.

Clinton was quoted as saying, “We have laws and we must be guided by those laws, but we shouldn’t have armed federal officers showing up at peoples’ homes, taking women and children out of their beds in the middle of the night.”

How impressive that she is able to fit Latinos, women, and children all in the same dramatic statement. Note that Latino men were not included in that statement, but then I’m sure it would sound far less dramatic to include them.

What’s missing from her statement, of course, is any indication of why the law should not be enforced as written. Why are immigration laws any different from laws against, say, theft? Would Hillary say, “We shouldn’t have armed federal officers showing up at peoples’ homes and arresting them for burglary”? Or perhaps for “burglary” we could substitute “rape” – because it seems that rape really is a crime that Hillary Clinton doesn’t want to see prosecuted, based on her personal history.

Further, she hasn’t proposed what exactly should be done when a judge has already ordered an illegal immigrant to leave the country, and they refuse.  How she would enforce the law is unclear.

What is clear, however, is that Hillary Clinton is still sticking with her modus operandi, which is to use emotional appeal by utilizing flowery language and sad tales of woe without having any plan of action to address the “problems.”

How transparent is her latest attempt to pick up the Latino vote?

Even Fusion, the media outlet that hosted the event, published an article last night that was highly critical of Clinton, and referenced her “shameless Latino pandering.”   The article also alluded to Clinton not understanding what white privilege means.
