(Before It's News)

Iran has released the United States Navy personnel they were holding captive, but not before using them for propaganda purposes, forcing them to kneel at gunpoint, and stating to the world that they forced the United States to apologize.

The BBC reported previously that Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif was contacted by Secretary of State John Kerry:

“Mr Zarif had a firm stance, saying that they were in our territorial waters and should not have been, and saying that they [the US] should apologize. This has been done and it will not take long, and the naval force, according to its hierarchy, will act immediately upon the orders it receives.”

The State Department has denied any apology was made:

But that hasn’t stopped Iran using this as propaganda and laughing the face of our government, our military, and the deal they duped the Obama administration into.

The Telegraph reports Kerry praised his and the President’s relationship with Iran as the reason for a “swift” resolution.

Mr Kerry stressed the change in US-Iran relations. “I want to express my gratitude to Iranian authorities for their cooperation in swiftly resolving this matter,” he said. “That this issue was resolved peacefully and efficiently is a testament to the critical role diplomacy plays in keeping our country safe, secure and strong.”

Mr Kerry spent scores of hours negotiating the nuclear agreement last year with Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Iranian foreign minister. The two men spoke immediately after the US personnel went missing.
.
Mr Zarif said he was “happy to see dialogue and respect, not threats and impetuousness, swiftly resolved sailors episode.”

That’s the U.S. Secretary of State thanking Iran for not doing anything worse to our service members whom they held prisoner and posed as captives at gunpoint.

He also said in a speech that the nuclear negotiations had “paid off.” Because that is what the negotiations were about, right? Well that and giving them a billion dollars.
