LGBT Community: Give Captain America A Boyfriend!

(Before It's News)

Nothing highlights how childish and bossy the LGBT community is like pushing for entertainment characters to be gay…just because.

First came the online campaign by fans of the animated movie Frozen to give one of the main characters, a princess named Elsa, a girlfriend in a future installment. (If for some reason you’re not familiar with it, Frozen was a wildly successful Disney movie.) Idina Menzel, the Broadway star who voiced Elsa, thinks such an addition to the story would be great. The fan who initiated the online campaign said this:

“The entertainment industry has given us girls who have fallen in love with beasts, ogres who fall for humans, and even grown women who love bees. But we’ve never been able to see the purity in a queer relationship.”

Well, perhaps because this is a children’s movie and you should stop pushing adult pathologies onto them? That would be a start.

Now following #GiveElsaAGirlfriend is #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend. Captain America has been a successful movie franchise for Marvel, based off of the comic book character. The character is from the 1940s, and purity of heart and patriotism are two things he focuses on. So why the push for Captain America, whose character’s name is Steve Rogers, to have a boyfriend? Well, according to those in the LGBT community, because he has a close, strong relationship with his male best friend, Bucky Barnes.

What this new push screams is that the LGBT community automatically assumes or questions close relationships between those of the same sex. Steve and Bucky have been through a lot as friends and as superheroes. Their closeness should not remain heterosexual, it must be sullied by political agenda. It’s not as “cool” if they’re just best guy friends who like females. How boring and lacking in diversity, or something. In 2014, when the movie Captain America: Winter Solider came out, a blog post entitled Top 4 Reasons Captain America Should be Gay used just that reasoning. Cited among the four reasons for making the character a homosexual were the following:

It makes his origin a lot more dramatic.

It would make him a lot less creepy.

Imagine if the same reasoning were to be given for making a gay character straight, just because. “Hey, at least a straight dude would be more exciting and less creepy!”

These new campaigns are hardly surprising. It’s not enough that we live and let live. We must be force-fed an ideology, even at a young age, about sexuality, regardless of whether it follows a story line or is even acceptable for young minds to ponder.

The militant LGBT community clearly can’t let heterosexuality exist as a part of diversity. It must demean it at all costs and question same sex friendships. If that’s a problem for you, straight person, you’re just another bigot.
