Trump Adds Another Brick to His Wall of Insults

(Before It's News)

Remember that time Donald Trump countered an insult with a reasonable, well-thought out rebuttal?

Me neither.

Let me begin by saying that no one finds Senator Elizabeth Warren a bigger fraud than me. She is the epitome of everything that is wrong with the Democrat party today.

That being said, she’s smart enough to draw the gilded toad into a ground battle that consists of hurling insults at each other, and Trump’s image as a nasty, abusive, racist character will be further compounded.

This is the run for the general election. Barring some great act of mercy from above, Trump will be the nominee. If winning is his goal, at some point, he needs to change up tactics and learn to be a leader. So far, that lesson has eluded him and he remains the intellectual equivalent of spam.

In an interview with Maureen Dowd, from the New York Times, Trump was asked about his meeting this past week with House Speaker Paul Ryan.

“’We talked about the success I’ve had,’ Trump replied. ‘Paul said to me that he has never seen anything like it because I’m a nonpolitician and I beat very successful politicians. He was really fascinated by how I won. I said, it’s just like I have good ideas and I’ve bonded with the people and my people are very loyal. They will stay through thick and thin, whereas the people that support Marco and Cruz wouldn’t. If Jeb sneezed, they’d leave.’”

I’m not entirely sure that’s true. The amount of people I’ve encountered who, even now, plan to write in Rubio or Cruz on principle is nearly equal to the amount of psychotic Branch Trumpidian cultists who refuse to see that Trump is a snake oil salesman of the highest caliber.

When I asked if he had been chided by any Republicans for his Twitter feud with Elizabeth Warren, he replied, “You mean Pocahontas?” So much for reining it in.

While I, and others have often called Elizabeth Warren “Fauxcahontas,” no doubt, Trump’s usage of the actual name of the Powhatan princess is likely to cause some waves. In this ultra-PC world, and especially in an election season, there isn’t much the media will allow a Republican to get away with – even if he’s just pretending to be a Republican.

An article from the Boston Globe has already zeroed in and their headline for the story read: “Trump Calls Elizabeth Warren ‘Pocahontas’ During NYT Interview.”

That won’t be the last time we hear about this, and whether it’s a big deal or not, it will be made to be a big deal, because it serves the media’s purpose to make it a big deal.

They created Trump. Now it’s time to tear him down.
