Malabo, Equatorial Guinea – H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the Head of State has assembled a very able body of people to complete the Horizonte 2020 Development Plan. H.E. Teodoro Obiang Mangue, was promoted to Vice President. Along with other season ministers, this group will help accelerate the countries development goals.

Horizonte 2020 Development Plan is transforming one of Africa’s tiniest countries into an emerging economy. As its oil producing neighbors on the continent and Gulf States have made stringent maneuvers to adjust with the market volatility, Equatorial Guinea is reaping the benefits of wise planning.

The country has identified tourism, fishing, agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure development as key sectors in diversifying the economy. Social investments continue on course without interruptions.

Through the vision of H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the Horizonte 2020 Development Plan is not just a model for Africa, but for the world. Not long ago, Equatorial Guinea was dirt poor and nobody cared about them. Now they also are a leading partner in the global war on terror and bringing regional stability in Central Africa, which has a population over 37 million people.

This week, Equatorial Guinea was awarded the host country for the All African Games in 2019. The African Games are a continental multi-sport event held every four years, organized by the African Union (AU) with the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) and the Association of African Sports Confederations (AASC).
