Marco Rubio Will Not Campaign For Donald Trump (VIDEO)
Yesterday, Senator Marco Rubio made the right decision to not sulk like Achilles in his tent and announced he would run for re-election. Rubio was always one of my top choices this primary season, he’s an immense talent and it would be a shame if the GOP, in this moment of flux and danger, lost him to a lobbying or law firm. Perhaps just as important was the announcement by Rubio that he would not campaign for Donald Trump:

“It’s not that I’m looking to undermine him, but I think the differences between us on key issues are so significant that I just don’t plan to campaign — I’ve got to run my own race,” Rubio told CNN in a live interview Wednesday.
…In explaining his reasoning behind not campaigning with Trump, Rubio said it had not changed from before he decided to seek reelection.
“I have my own identity,” he continued. “I have my own positions on issues, and I’m not going to be out there undermining him or anything of that nature because I don’t want Hillary to win, but I really think I need to tell people what I’m going to do as a senator as opposed to, kind of, and that was going to be the case irrespective of whether I ran.”
Get used to this. This is going to be the first election year since 1976 when you see down-ballot GOP candidates trying to create a substantial distance between themselves and the presidential candidate. Trump is getting the nomination with 43% of the GOP primary votes. Nearly half of GOP voters want to see Trump go away right now. He is poisonous and his organization is poisonous. No one who hopes to keep their reputation or self-respect intact is going to campaign for the guy… which explains Chris Christie, Mike Huckabee, and Jeff Sessions.
