Reports of a coup attempt by the military have poured in over social media in the last half hour, and now we have confirmation of a coup attempt allegedly led by the Turkish military without approval from the command structure.
President Erdogan is currently on vacation in Bodrum on the south-west coast of Turkey.

Reports on the ground in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey, show tanks on the ground and military forces on patrol. There have also been reports of a curfew put in place by the military.
