Claire McCaskill Makes an Extremely Problematic and Sexist Remark about Mike Pence
Earlier today, Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill was asked about Indiana’s Governor and presumed GOP Vice Presidential nominee Mike Pence. In response, she uttered an extremely problematic and objectifying remark about Governor Pence, implying that Trump would probably pick Pence because he’s “handsome.”
Slow down, Claire. Maybe it would be okay to acknowledge Mike Pence for his distinguished career in public service, or his accomplishments, or his intellect. Mike Pence is not just a piece of meat and shame on Claire McCaskill’s rape culture for perpetuating this myth.
Someone had better alert a prominent media producer so that he or she can complain to the proper authorities.
