Donald Trump Officially Introduces Mike Pence as Running Mate on GOP Ticket | 16 July 2016 | Donald Trump said his selection of Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his Republican running mate showed a commitment to party unity and that they will form the “law and order” choice for the presidency in the fall. Mr. Trump had intended officially to announce his selection of Mr. Pence on Friday, but delayed the event after Thursday's terrorist killing of 84 people in Nice, France. Uncertainty had hung over his selection for days, as news reports aired divides within Mr. Trump's circle over his preference for the Indiana governor.
