(Before It's News)

We may have entered into some alternate universe, at this point.

The Obama administration actually told Democrats to shut up.

Ok. That last part was my particular finesse on the situation, but White House press secretary, Josh Earnest, did deliver a statement that very much throws a wet blanket over all the whining protests from the left, regarding FBI Director James Comey’s announcement, that they are reopening the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails.

“The president doesn’t believe Director Comey is intentionally trying to influence the outcome of an election,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters. “The president doesn’t believe he’s secretly strategizing to benefit one candidate or one political party.”

Earnest called Comey “a man of integrity” and a “man of good character” but acknowledged that “he’s in a tough spot” when it comes to the Clinton email probe.

“I’ll neither defend nor criticize what Director Comey has decided to communicate to the public about this investigation,” he added.

That’s going to make those campaign stops with Hillary a little awkward.

With a week away from the big day, ripping the focus off of Trump’s grabby hands and redirecting it back to Hillary’s breathtaking corruption was the last thing the campaign needed.

Pair that with the news of astronomical rate increases for Obamacare, and it becomes an even uglier picture for Democrats, who forced the nation into what amounts to a government-sanctioned Ponzi scheme.

Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader (“Dirty”) Harry Reid, is probably the loudest, and most ridiculous critic of this move by Comey.

He’s accused him of possibly violating the Hatch Act, which prevents government officials from using their position to influence elections.

The senator also accused Comey of sitting on “explosive information” about Trump’s ties to the Russian government and implied he regretted supporting his nomination as FBI director in 2013.

“When Republicans filibustered your nomination and delayed your confirmation longer than any previous nominee to your position, I led the fight to get you confirmed because I believed you to be a principled public servant,” Reid wrote in a letter to Comey. “With the deepest regret, I now see that I am wrong.”

In other words, you owe him, Comey.

Reid’s pout is in direct opposition with statements from the White House.

Earnest said that ”the president thinks very highly of Director Comey and continues to have confidence in his ability to do the job.”

It’s like a break in the chain at the very top.

The new revelations may have no real effect on the results of the election. Donald Trump remains a desperately wretched candidate. I can tell you who is watching every detail with rapt attention, however:

Tim Kaine.
