(Before It's News)

Fox News has been accused of sexual harassment from dozens upon dozens of individuals in recent years.

The New York Times reported over the weekend that Bill O’Reilly, Fox’s top-rated host, has been involved in several sexual harassment lawsuits behind the scenes for most of his tenure at Fox News – which is something many were not aware of.

It has been rumored that Fox News and O’Reilly have paid out more than $13 million to a total of five women who have accused O’Reilly of various forms of harassment.

Megyn Kelly left Fox News as one of the highest rated personalities in media to join MSNBC last year. At the time, many wondered why she left.

In her new book, “Settle For More,” Kelly opened up about her experiences with sexual harassment at Fox News. The book also gives insight into part of the reason why she left Fox News.

In her book, Kelly reveals that Fox’s internal company culture may be designed to carry water for harassers – meaning there is a culture of harassment that is allowed to grow and form inside the company.

Speaking about former chief Roger Ailes, who Kelly accused of harassment, Kelly wrote that “the entire structure was set up to isolate and silence” accusers, and that those who did come forward previously “didn’t manage to effect any change.”

Kelly’s explanation and details have quickly gone from “the opinion of the author” to “credible source offering insight” as dozens of women have come forward since the launch of Kelly’s book last year.

In her book, Kelly also offered several ideas and tips on how Fox News could improve their office culture.

“Having meaningful controls in place to encourage reporting is critical,” she wrote.

“Having managers in place who understand their own responsibilities upon receiving such a report is equally important.”

Some argue that O’Reilly, averaging 3.9 million viewers every night in the months since the presidential election, has been allowed to remain with the company because of his success.

The accusations are very serious against Fox News and members of the company.

The fact that more and more women are coming forward is very telling as this situation will be one to keep an eye on going forward.
