(Before It's News)

Three Union Leaders Shot Dead in South Africa. The young NUMSA shop stewards were targeted by “reactionary forces” after a 4 week strike, says the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU).

The Class War Goes Retail. Why exactly does Wall Street tank on news portending economic gains for most Americans? Don’t people with extra money in their pockets boost the economy when they spend more freely? Isn’t it something worth celebrating? Not in an economy that caters to the rich.

What ails Appalachia ails the nation. Appalachia, like some blighted urban areas and Native American reservations, mixes several ingredients of poor health: doctor shortages and access-to-care problems; stressful, unhealthy lifestyles; low education levels; and insidious poverty.
