Basics Of Using A Map Compass
Another skill we should discuss (which I have neglected to) is navigation. What good is going anywhere and not knowing your way around the land? Could you find yourself in a situation where you have gotten turned around and you are completely lost? Absolutely! This happens quite often and I know you don’t want to become a statistic. So let’s take a look at what you should have and know.
First and foremost, a good basic map compass, such as the one here. Notice I said basic. If you do not have the experience with using one you may not only get confused, but frustrated as well. So let’s start slow and work our way up. We found a video that we believe covers the basics of this subject. We will get into more detail later, but we wanted to get everyone up and running first.
