Mansfield, Ohio police have been embroiled in an armed stand-off on Randall Road for of David Parker more than 24 hours. Since Monday morning, shots have been fired from inside the home three times.
Shortly before 9 a.m. the Mansfield police were in the process of attempting to send a robot into the David Parker residence to determine if the man was still alive. A day earlier at just about the same time, a Columbia Gas workers knocked on Parker’s door and the Ohio man came to greet him carrying a semi-automatic rifle and threatened to shoot, police say.
Mansfield Law Director John Spon told the media that efforts to contact the homeowner’s brother, Jonathon Parker, have been made. The sibling reportedly lives in the Philippines with his wife and so far the attempts have failed. Spon also said that while he has “no direct knowledge” regarding the basement of the Randall Road home, he has received secondhand information that the underground portion of the structure is also a bunker. The local official also reportedly described Parker as a “heavily armed survivalist.”
