Fairway Market Partnership with Food Bank for New York City to Help Feed the Hungry Will Run Through the Holiday Season

Fairway Market is partnering again this year with the Food Bank for New York City and its sister food banks in NJ, CT, Long Island and Westchester for the annual Check Out Hunger campaign to feed the needy during the upcoming holiday season.
The Check Out Hunger campaign will start on Monday, November 5, 2012 and conclude on Sunday, January 13, 2013. There are three million people in NYC having difficulty affording food and just a simple $5 donation represents 25 meals for people in need.

Customers can donate in different denominations --$1, $5 and $10 the Fairway Markets in New York City and $1, $3 and $5 in the suburban Fairway Markets. They can tear off one of the tickets found on all front-end registers and it to the cashier for scanning. The dollar amount will be added to the customer’s order and go into a special separate account designated for the food bank program.
