As a result of impeccable passion for otolaryngology and unwavering commitment to achieve quality in all facets of patient care, Arthur Michael Lauretano, MD, FACS, has been selected to receive publication in The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Lauretano, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, is a well-reputed otolaryngologist practicing in the Greater Boston area. Also an instructor in Otology and Laryngology at Harvard Medical School and Professor at Tufts Medical School, Dr. Lauretano moved his practice at Massachusetts ENT Associates, where he continues to work today, in 1997, and sees patients in the Greater Lowell area of Massachusetts in Chelmsford as well as in New Hampshire at his second office in Nashua. He specializes in thyroid surgery, laryngeal surgery, head and neck cancer surgery, and voice disorders – including professional voice. Furthermore, he acts as President of the Medical Staff at Lowell General Hospital and is also the Medical Director of the Lowell General Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Program and Clinic. Moreover, Dr. Lauretano has active privileges at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Lahey Clinics, and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
In 1988, Dr. Lauretano graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University, where he completed the six-year medical program and received both a bachelor’s degree of arts in medical sciences and a medical doctor degree. He then dedicated to his general surgery internship training which he served at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts and was granted the Critical Care Award. Then followed his residency training focused on otolaryngology and conducted at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. He finished his specialization there in 1993. Dr. Lauretano is the recipient of several awards, including the Dean Eleanor Tyler Award, the Dora Savenor Memorial Prize for Excellence in Surgery, and the Internal Medicine Award. An inductee of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, he is certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology and remains an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Head and Neck Surgery, the American Society of Laser Medicine in Society, and the Massachusetts Medical Society. A published author, Dr. Lauretano attributes his success to perseverance, excellent teachers, and compassion for patients. Outside medical practice, he loves spending time with his family, coaching soccer, and playing guitar. He also holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Martial Arts.
