Breathtaking Megalithic City Built For Giants? Past & Apocalyptic Future Exposed! (Pictures & Video)

Petra is a historical and archaeological city located in the southern Jordanian governorate of Ma’an that is meticulously carved in the face of the mountains. Not only is it famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system, but it plays a very important role in end times prophecy.
It is also said to contain the rock that Moses struck out of anger toward the Israelites in the great Exodus (this rock can be seen in the first video below).
Many scholars believe that Petra will be the place where the 144,000 Jews (the remnant) will go to hide during the Great Tribulation. And, while they are hiding there, the wicked Antichrist and his people will not be able to enter in or hurt them because the Holy Spirit will provide a powerful, unquenchable shield of protection.
As we draw closer to the days spoken of by John the Revelator in the Book of Revelation, I feel a nudge in my spirit to make a post about this magnificent place that may very well be the future refuge for God’s chosen people.

There will be two groups of Jews here on earth during the tribulation period (the 70th week of Daniel). The first group are the 144,000 males of Revelation 7, plus their wives or wives to be. The second group is called the Remnant and are referred to in Revelation chapter 12, verse 17. These are called the rest in the New King James Version. The devil and his christ, the Antichrist, cannot kill the 144,000 of Revelation 7, or their wives or wives to be, but they do kill a large portion of the Remnant. The devil himself, when he realizes that he cannot hurt the 144,000 of Revelation 7 and their wives or wives to be, then tries to kill the Remnant of her (the woman, Israel’s) seed, the Jews, during the last 3½ years (Rev. 12: 17), especially when the 5th and 6th seals are being unleashed.
Although the devil tries to kill this Remnant he cannot kill the 144,000 of Revelation 7 even though he will try (Rev. 12: 16 – 17). Those killed (Jew and Gentile alike) will enter Heaven in chapter 7, verses 9 – 17. (Now, do not get the idea that this is the Church, the Bride of Christ. For she will have already entered Heaven in Revelation 4: 1.). The Jews will not flee until the middle of the tribulation period and on into the second half of this 7 year period (Matt. 24: 15, 16 – 22, Dan. 9: 27). The Antichrist turns on them in the middle of that period (II Thes. 2: 4, Matt. 24: 15). He breaks the covenant that he had made with them (Dan. 9: 27). Jews flee for their lives into the wilderness. The 144,000, etc… will probably go to Petra, Jordan, and the Remnant of the women’s seed, which is figurative for Israel, will hide wherever they can, but many of the “Remnant” (Rev. 12: 17) will be killed.
What’s even more fascinating is that it would appear Petra was originally built for the habitation of giants! Amazingly enough, if that is the case, and Petra does indeed house the ‘Remnant’, God truly does take the works of the enemy and blesses the righteous!

The thing that grabs you, first of all, is the scale. Petra is enormous. It extends for at least 60 square kilometres through canyons, up mountains and along river beds — most of its ruins are sized for giants.
A mere two storeys high, the Treasury (never a treasury, but rather a king’s tomb) stands almost 40 metres tall, or eight to twelve times life size. Several of his successors built even bigger, though most were damaged by the series of earthquakes that left the city abandoned. Even the public buildings that lined Petra’s colonnaded main street were, pretty much, on steroids. This temple, still only partly excavated, was the largest religious structure in the Middle East.

The Nabataeans, traditionally nomadic people who lived in tents and had emigrated in the sixth century B.C. from the Arabian peninsula to southern Jordan, at the crossroad of the trade routes that linked China, India, Iran and the booming Roman Empire. In 63 A.D. it was first occupied by the Romans and from 106 A.D. it was annexed by their empire. For a while its capital Petra continued to prosper, but powerful earthquakes and the Arab invasion sealed its fate. It was abandoned and became a ghost town. Aramaic was the lingua franca of the region, but the Nabateans were writing in a script that was the prototype of Arabic. Originally, Petra was probably not a city, but only a sanctuary and necropolis. There are over three thousand tombs in Petra. While so big that it contained temples, a theater, baths, gardens and other meeting places, its inhabitants were merely the staff that took care of these functions.
From around 60 BC to 200 AD it underwent a massive construction project. The ancient Nabataeans had chosen a valley surrounded and hidden by mountains, the Wadi Musa (“the valley of Moses”), accessible through a narrow canyon (the Siq), and later generations shaped the sandstone cliffs of the valley into a city. Approaching Petra from the Siq, one follows its crooked route as it shrinks to a width of five meters. Then a massive structure appears: the “Khazneh” (“treasury”), carved into the mountain, 40-meter high. The influence of Greek architecture is evident, but these are not free-standing structures. They are fake Greek temples. Beyond the “Khazneh” lies the old center of town.
All around on the walls of the valley the inhabitants carved more temples/tombs, some of them as imposing as the “Khazneh”. The path continues up the hill via an ancient staircase to another Greek-style construction almost at the very top, “El-Deir” (“the monastery”). This is an even more colossal building, with a 50-meter wide and 55-meter tall facade and an eight-meter tall doorway (in the photograph there is a man approaching the door, if you can see him). Nobody knows why the Nabateans built these structures for giants, except that they seem to occupy as much space as the mountain allowed. Basically, the architects may have wanted to magnify ordinary life to make it look as grand as Nature.

The rock Moses struck is in Saudi Arabia, called ‘split rock’. No where near Petra, which was built on the silk road trade route as a means of tax gathering. Neither of which has anything to do with being built by or for giants.

Yes, that’s mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia, where all the remains of the ancient artifacts the Israelites left behind on their travel from Egypt to Palestine are to be found. Including Split Rock, Jewish animal sacrifice temples, and the temple to the golden calf, which is actually a temple to the Egyptian fertility goddess Hathor, which is a horned cow.
It’s about the only ancient remains in existence that verify a bible story, the exodus.

There are two versions:
1. The Jewish version that tells of a competition they held at mount Sinai between their deities, on which one was the most powerful. The winning priests ordered the followers of the other deities to be butchered on sight. It resulted in half their number being butchered by the other half.
2. The Christian version where Moses goes up mount Sinai, comes down with the 10 commandments and finds they have built a golden calf monument. Moses then smashes the stone tables with the 10 commandments on.
Going by the remains, the Jewish version is more likely to be true.
I’ve seen (on television) the Mt Sinai in Saudi Arabia.. but don’t recall them mentioning the split rock… very interesting..

The only thing Vesuvius and mount Sinai have in common is they are both volcanos. Sinai is a Hebrew baby name. In Hebrew the meaning of the name Sinai is: From the clay desert.
And the Christians at Jerusalem have already fled to Petra during a break in the attack upon Jerusalem before it’s eventual destruction in 70AD.

Millions of years ago up till the great flood, it is said the atmosphere was filled with water vapors and much richer with oxygen allowing larger then life, life.

The earth actually expands over time. Millions of years ago the gravity was much less than today affording larger anatomical structures. Also, less competition and more space will allow increased size.
Sadly the Grand Canyon theory not so much so. If a major rapid upheaval of the crust did occur. Its more likely that the river would go around it. We would be left with a river and a mountain, versus a nicely bored out canyon.

A long long time ago 144,000 people were considered a lot. Now it is a drop in the puke bucket of humanity. The text`s in question have been adapted to other religions as well, go figure. My grandparents turned Jehovah witness in the early 80`s , They also believe in the 144,000 being saved, but of course it is them, not the Jewish faith the texts were taken from. Really they think that amount will be saved, then everyone else will be resurrected to live forever in their earthly bodies in such love and peace lambs and lions lay down to sleep together…. I call it Vampire syndrome. Live forever, because your scared of loosing your material , earthly body. Do not worry about your soul or anything , it is all in the material side of reality.
So much of what people assume is religions texts are IMO possible historical events , planetary events , yes even another planet-system passing us. It is not hard for me to imagine it happening. The bodies approach each other, odds would be that it passed over head since that is where most of the ice is left today. All the water on the planet would have rushed to the surface near the two bodies interacting through gravity. Then the planet moved from its natural , or original position and flash froze much of the water.
People are still here and living so it leaves us to guess there were survivors. It could be any level of advanced or basic society’s of humans could have been around. It would not take much right now to wipe out everything we know and have learned over the eons. A single generation not taught to read their parents language`s due to them all dying with few survivors who are dedicated to surviving the aftermath of a world wide devastating event.

We can look at this ancient carved out city in a mountain and think , wow its huge they made it for Giants! Or we can assume they were at the peak of their talents in stone work, bigger is better when working in stone to last the ages. Nothing else will last that long. Making a massive structure forces the human to dwarf themselves in their mind and attribute greater power and size to their Gods.
