What is goin on?! This is INSANE! NO Christian should in any manner, shape or form celebrate Halloween! “The two faiths are diametrically opposed to one another.”
Kirk Cameron, who has been making appearances promoting a new documentary film, is now being called to repentance after raising concerns by statements he made encouraging Christians to celebrate Halloween.
Cameron, best known his role as Mike Seaver on the 80’s TV sitcom Growing Pains, is on a mission, not only to save “Christmas,” but to also save Halloween according to a recent interview with The Christian Post.
During the interview, Kirk discussed his new film “Saving Christmas,” which attempts to debunk various concerns on the pagan origins of the holiday and encourages support for the various annual traditions from trees to Santa Claus. However, Cameron likewise encouraged Christians to celebrate Halloween, stating that “Christians should have the biggest Halloween party on your block.”
The actor explained his views by saying that “The real origins have to do with All Saints Day and all Hallows Eve.”
“If you go back to old church calendars, especially Catholic calendars, they recognize the holiday All Saints Day, with All Hallows Eve the day before, when they would remember the dead. That’s all tied to Halloween.”
Cameron went on to encourage Christians to participate in Halloween by dressing up and partying in order to show that Christians have the upper hand in the holiday. Read more

He is partialy right. The day to be celebrating is the 1st. All Saints day. The Whole month of November is dedicated to the rememberance of any souls who may be suffering in Purgatgory.
Firslty, there is no Purgatory in the Bible, for it is appointed unto a man once to die, and then, the judgment. Salvation is by grace, and not works — not the penance paid in Purgatory.
I believe that observing these holidays falls under the same moral category as eating the meat sacrificed to idols.
Immature Christians may rightfully feel conflicted and should abstain for the sake of their own conscience. You have my wholehearted endorsement in doing so. I have found comparative religion interesting for my entire life, have always taken the opportunity to study it. The heathen typically added nuances, in every generation, somewhat like the game of telephone. When a relative died, whatever they knew was lost to verbal prehistory. To the best of my understanding, at their root, they are all either degenerate versions of the Gospel or of the first Babylon.
Mature Christians may consider it harmless, once taken out of it’s given context. In that case, it is a cultural observance or Americanism, like the Lone Ranger or BBQ sauce. If those things become an obsessive compulsion, I’m willing to call it spiritual bondage, without hesitation. When they cause you to act against your God given conscience or discernment, abstain from those things, also.
If you are going to dictate that Christians can’t celebrate pagan festivals then you had better dump The Passover, Easter and Christmas, the Eucharist, a world view that starts with a flood and ends in a judgement upon a final conflagration of the Universe, a heaven populated by beautified ones in the upper regions and a hell populated by the dishonorable and demons in the lower regions, etc etc, pretty much every bit of Christian dogma originates from paganism.
Halloween is All Souls day, ancestors day where on one day per year it’s honorable to remember and thank your ancestors. This is not ancestor worship, it is to honor their memory in a celebration of their lives and successful product, yourself, you would not exist if a single one of them had failed. It’s one of the nicest festivals of them all. Shame Christian America has turned into a mobile street party for kids, it misses the whole point.
