This is an Internet discussion group:
In other words, not everyone is really serious about discussing the topic brought up in the thread title.
Many respondents, for example, look upon any discussion as nothing more than an opportunity to gain personal ‘attention’; an opportunity to say something ‘cute’ (or sometimes vicious) but irrelevant to the subject at hand.
You sort of have to ‘separate the wheat from the chaff’.
And thanks so much to Elsie, at GMG, for not banning me from the discussion group, as has happened so many times in the past from other discussion groups.
