Not that ancient either considering the earliest trace of the Israelites dates to c1’100 BCE. Enoch also explained that there are descriptions of the heavens seen by prophets during end times visions which are clues to timing these future events: “some of them are written and inscribed above in the heaven, in order that the angels may read them and know that which shall befall the sinners and good men.” (Enoch 108:7)

I find the first third of 1 Enoch to be inspired.
Unfortunately 1 Enoch had more than one author.
As far as why it wasn’t made canon, some think that it was part of God’s plan to have it only made known to most of the world circa 1947, because that is when the world would be made aware of the UFO phenomenon. Sort of a delay tactic to allow evil to mature. If the details of the nephilim were widespread since the early days of the church, this kind of evil might not have matured on God’s timing. It is an interesting position, I am not saying it is the actual reason.
Enoch may be one of the two witnesses. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die”. The two witnesses are eventually put to death. That may be why he was taken alive. He would be witness to all the sin before the flood. One witness from before the flood, one from after the flood. One might be gentile (Enoch) and the other might be Hebrew (Moses or Elijah). Again, just a suggestion to think about.
You might be on to something here. Did you figure it out yourself or was this something that you were taught? Just curious. There is so much symbolism involved in the ancient writings and everyone has contributed their two cents worth. There is only one Creator for sure, and that entity needs to be sought after and found by going inside yourself. Remember, the Kingdom of God is within you, and we truly do need saving. What man is capable of this…..only one, that is the Creator Himself. Only one person in all of history has laid claim to that destiny. Perhaps it is a dangerous notion not to take notice.
The time delay thing came from those who seriously study the nephilim on the net. I don’t remember who exactly. I think it came from the Ancient of Days conferences.
The thing about Enoch possibly being one of the two witnesses is something that I personally believe. It is a mystery why he was taken alive. And I think Elijah was too. But you can find many opinions on who these two will be.
There is also a camp who think the two witnesses are two groups of people rather than individual men, possibly the Jews and the gentiles, but this can’t be right because they die. If all the Jews and the gentiles die, no one is left. Doesn’t seem to fit as well as individual men.
Thankyou for responding. I listened to the Book of Adam and Eve and also the Book of Jasher. I understand that these may not be ‘Divinely’ inspired, but there are a lot of books written that are fictional, based on fact. If you carefully and thoughtfully read these you can pull out some information that slots in perfectly and gives some detail. Have you read these? I do not know who the two witnesses might be, and I will not speculate, simply because there is so much symbology in the bible.. One thing I am certain of that I will state is that the 200 who descended on Mt Hermon DID NOT have actual intercourse with human women, the word ‘fair’ means ‘useful’ and as they watched while God made Adam, they knew how to make their own via some medical practice similar to the modern day IVF. Their hearts are filled with hatred for the human race so how could they possibly ‘love’ those women. I could be wrong, but it makes more sense to me, and is more consistent with the mentality of wanting to corrupt everything that God originally made. Really, I have no one to discuss these issues with, would be more than happy if you wanted to keep the discuss this topic
