Prophecy Watch: The Horrible Warnings of These Little-Known Mystics Will Haunt Your Dreams

We all know prophecy is big business these days.  Celebrities such as Steve Quayle, Hal Lindsey, Tom Horn and Jonathan Cahn, author of the runaway bestseller, The Harbinger, all purport to see “signs” that point to certain future apocalyptic events.   Are they right?  Have these folks been blessed with knowledge that can help the rest of us come to terms with what’s reportedly  coming at us?   This article is not meant to dispute their claims but to give readers additional resources to trustworthy information.  In fact, these sources are a veritable goldmine.

In a sense, it’s easy for anyone today to become a prophet.  Certainly, no one with one eye open can dispute the fact that our world is mutating at warp speed and on a definite path of destruction.  But what of those individuals throughout the annals of history who could have never imagined a world where cell phones, talking motion pictures and space shuttles were the norm?  A world where killing the very young and the very old is protected by the law of the land and the meaning of marriage redefined?  Here is a brief account of a few such individuals, touched by God, scorned by their peers, whose words survived throughout the centuries―perhaps for the sole reason to convict us in Truth.

Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres (1563-1635) was a Spanish Conceptionist sister who traveled from her country to the New World to help to found a convent in Quito, Equador.  Throughout her life, she was granted a number of visions and mystical favors, but none were so startling as the messages she received from Christ’s own mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary.  “Unbridled passions will give way to a total corruption of customs because Satan will reign through the Masonic sects, targeting the children in particular to insure general corruption.  The sacrament of Matrimony, which symbolizes the union of Christ with the Church, will be thoroughly attacked and profaned. Masonry, then reigning, will implement iniquitous laws aimed at extinguishing this sacrament. Sister Agnes Katsuko Sasagawa – In the summer of 1973, in Akita, Japan, this nun received a series of messages from Our Blessed Mother as a warning to humanity.  “My dear daughter, listen well to what I have to say to you. You will inform your superior. As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead… The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. Mélanie Calvat and Maximin Giraud (September 19, 1846) The following secret was given by Our Lady to two children, while they were tending cattle on the mountain of La Salette, France.  “The seasons will be changed, the earth will produce only bad fruits, the heavenly bodies will lose the regularity of their movements, the moon will reflect only a feeble reddish light; water and fire will lend convulsive motions to the earth’s sphere, causing mountains , cities, etc., to be swallowed up.”  And . . . “There will be extraordinary wonders every place because the true faith has been extinguished and false light illumines the world. Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179)   German writer, composer, philosopher, Christian mystic, Benedictine abbess, visionary.  “A powerful wind will rise in the North carrying heavy fog and the densest dust by divine command and it will fill their throats and eyes so they will cease their savagery and be stricken with great fear.  Before the Comet comes, many nations, the good excepted, will be scoured with want and famine. The great nation in the ocean that is inhabited by people of different tribes and descent by an earthquake, storm and tidal waves will be devastated.  It will be divided, and in great part submerged. That nation will also have many misfortunes at sea, and lose its colonies in the east through a Tiger and a Lion. 

“The Comet by its tremendous pressure, will force much out of the ocean and flood many countries, causing much want and many plagues. [After the] great Comet, the great nation will be devastated by earthquakes, storms, and great waves of water, causing much want and plagues. The ocean will also flood many other countries, so that all coastal cities will live in fear, with many destroyed. All sea coast cities will be fearful and many of them will be destroyed by tidal waves, and most living creatures will be killed and even those who escape will die from a horrible disease.

Blessed Anna Maria Taigi (1769-1837) Wife, mother and mystic, she was born in Siena, Italy on May 29, 1769 into a poor, working class family.  When she was married, she underwent a deep spiritual conversion that eventually led to her receiving a number of divine messages.  The poor, the great of the world, the princes of the Church came to her for advice or help. They found her in the midst of her household cares and often suffering from illness. She refused them neither her last crust of bread nor the most precious moments of her time, yet she would accept neither presents nor praise.  “Here shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing will be visible, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion.  On this terrible occasion so many of these wicked men, enemies of His Church, and of God, shall be killed by this divine scourge, that their corpses round Rome will be as numerous as the fish, which a recent inundation of the Tiber had carries into the city.  All the enemies of the Church, secret as well as known, will perish over the earth during that universal darkness, with the exception of a few, whom God will soon convert.  The air shall be infected by demons, who will appear under all sorts of visible forms.  It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles.  He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot. Venerable Maria of Agreda (died 1665):  Her body has remained Incorrupt for more than 340 years.   “An unusual chastisement of the human race will take place toward the end of the world.”  http://www.traditioninaction.org/History/B_017_Agreda_5.html

Dionysius of Luxemberg (died 1682):  “After the birth of Antichrist the people of the world will be very wicked and godless. People of real virtue will be very scarce. Pastors in many places will neglect the service of God, and will live with women. Even the religious will crave for worldly things. The churches will be dreary and empty like deserted barns…At the time when Antichrist is about twenty years of age the whole world will be without faith, subjects will be oppressed by rulers and others in authority.  In every period of tribulation God aids His Church, and He will do it in the time before the coming of Antichrist. From the midst of His Church He will raise up a Christian ruler who will perform most remarkable deeds.  With divine assistance this ruler will not only lead erring souls back to the true Faith but also deal a heavy blow to the foes of the empire;  the Turks, to take away their empire and restore it to Christianity.”  http://www.rogerswebsite.com/others/Catholic-Prophecy.htm

St. Vincent Ferrer (14th Century) “In the days of peace that are to come after the desolation of revolutions and wars, before the end of the world, the Christians will become so lax in their religion that they will refuse to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, saying, “It is an unnecessary Sacrament.”

John of the Cleft Rock (14th Century) “Towards the end of the world, tyrants and hostile mobs will rob the Church and the clergy of all their possessions and will afflict and martyr them. Those who heap the most abuse upon them will be held in high esteem.”

A couple of observations that would be hard to miss:  Yes, most of these mystics are either saints or on their way to sainthood, but they are/were, without exception, humble people who NEVER accepted money or other recompense for their prophecies.  If you study their lives, you will also find they all suffered for their Faith and never asked for their “gifts”.  Regardless of their messages, perhaps we are ALL called to live lives of deeper faith, trust  and love for God.
