A great deception within Christianity is in ignoring the prophets

A hierarchy in the church apart from Christ is a great deception within Christianity

John 10:11-12 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

There is only one verse in all of the New Testament where the word shepherd, is translated as pastors (Eph 4:11). A careful study of the original Greek words oftentimes reveals hidden truths. Indeed, (God) gave some to be apostles, and prophets, and evangelists, and a Shepherd (who is) also (our) teacher Eph 4:11 KJV (emphasis added) This subtle yet deceptive change also represents a great deception within Christianity. To insert the word pastor in place of shepherd, creates a deadly precedence. This sets up albeit falsely, the justification for a hierarchy, allowing certain men to have authority over others. great deception within Christianity Christ is the only true Shepherd and there is none other.

John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Christ made himself of no reputation, and became a servant to many (Phil 2:7). We are not to exalt mere mortal men, who are but sinners. Is this not a great deception within Christianity? Religions are drunk with spiritual idolatry, below is a short list of them.

  • Following false doctrines after the traditions of men.
  • Proclaiming self righteousness, and justification through the old law.
  • Seeking the praises of men, instead of the praises of God.
  • Obsessed with reputations, and achievements, which is also vanity.
  • Placing any one or any thing above God, this is idolatry.
  • Idolizing religious leaders or their writings, and worldly wisdom.
  • Storing up earthly treasures, and serving mammon.

Calling men father, rabbi or pastor, is forbidden, and yet three major religions use these titles for their leaders (Mat 23:8-10, Eph 4:11). If there was to be a hierarchy in the church apart from Christ, He would have mentioned it at least once. Furthermore, anyone claiming to be a teacher ordained of God must be baptized by the Spirit of God, otherwise what they teach is just a biased opinion. Christ is the head of His Church,  all men are equal, and no man has any spiritual authority over another (Eph 4:4-15). The body of Christ is to be as one body, with one mind and one Spirit, even though there are many members. (Rom 15:6; Gal 3:28-29, Phl 1:27).

Romans 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

Matt 20:25-26 Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister

Jesus makes it pretty clear there was to be no hierarchy. We are called to minister and serve each other, not serve ourselves. Great deception Within christianity  - Link to Website
