Obama Makes Stunning Admission on ISIS as He Leaves Office… He Wasn’t Paying Attention to Them (Video)
President Barack Obama made a stunning admission about the Islamic State group that gave us more proof of why he should’ve never been elected president.
In an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria about his legacy, Obama admitted the rise of the terrorist group wasn’t something he considered.
In a portion of the video uploaded to CNN’s website, Zakaria asked the president if he were to be completely honest, could he say the rise of the Islamic State group took him and the administration by surprise.
“The ability of ISIL to not just mass inside of Syria, but then to initiate major land offensives that took Mosul, for example, that was not on my intelligence radar screen,” Obama said.
While Obama might have admitted the rise of the terror army took him by surprise, he stopped short of actually accepting any responsibility for how the organization grew.
However, if Obama were to be completely honest, he would have admitted that he allowed the terrorist group to flourish because he never took them seriously until it was far too late. In 2014, he jokingly referred to them as a “JV team,” although, as Newsmax pointed out, they had become one of the most vicious terrorist groups in history.
“Our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that, I think, they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” Obama said.
Yes, as a matter of fact, they did. And Conservative Tribune, along with others, repeatedly pointed out Obama’s lack of foresight about the matter.
CNN reported that as Obama’s presidency comes to an end, it’s clear that he’ll leave Washington with Syrians “facing nearly unyielding misery” — a legacy that will haunt him.
It’s also a legacy that he deserves. Admitting the Islamic State group wasn’t on his radar while surrounded by people who saw the organization’s threat proves just how incompetent he was.
