The Words of God and the doctrines of men regarding Tithing and sin offerings

Words of God and the doctrines of men

Christ abolished the Mosaic Law and ordinances, including tithing and sin offerings.

Heb 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

Christians are not required to tithe, nor are they to make offerings for their sins.

Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Jesus paid the price for the collective sins of all of mankind. This does include those who were under the first testament covenant given to the Hebrews through Moses. Under the first covenant there was a covering of sins, but through Christ these sins were blotted out.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Christ was manifest to take away the sins of the world (1 John 1:7, 3:5).

The true followers of Jesus are not under the Old Testament law of bondage, but the new law of liberty which is in Christ. The new covenant of Christ was established upon better promises (Heb 8:6).

2 Cor 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

This giving is out of love, and it does not necessarily relate to money. It is based on compassion as opposed to ordinances. More often than naught, sharing time, talents and knowledge with others is a much larger sacrifice.

The reasons why Christians are not required to tithe are quite obvious.

Heb 7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

The new covenant of Christ, cancelled out the old one given unto the Hebrews, therefore Christians are not required to tithe (Heb 7:18).

Tithing was a Law of Moses, and Christians are not under this law. When the Words of God and the doctrines of men collide, it is wise to follow the teachings of Jesus.

Tithing was an Old Testament law, and Christians are under the New Law of Christ.

There is no command for the New Covenant Church to tithe.

If your preacher says that you are sinning and robbing God by not tithing, this is not only the identification of a false teacher, but of a liar and probably a thief.

The Words of God and the doctrines of men regarding the Sabbath

Words of God and the doctrines of men

In order to keep the modern day church charade profitable, false teachers must convince their members that keeping the sabbath and tithing are essential.

Those who have experienced the transforming power of Christ are not entangled in the old law and its ordinances any longer. The Words of God and the doctrines of men must be complimentary to each other. The sword of the spirit is the Word of God, and we must not mix our wisdom with His (Eph 6:17).

1 Cor 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

The true joy, wisdom and power that comes from a Spirit filled relationship with Jesus is never realized by those who are kept from the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Many claim to keep the Ten Commandments, which were part of the old law, but we are no longer under the old law.

To claim to be justified by the old law is actually a separation from Christ, as you are fallen from grace and not led by the spirit of truth (Gal 5:4-18). You will never hear this truth presented by the false teachers in the Church.

The truth is that the Sabbath was made for a certain group of people, and for a set period of time. Jesus did not ask any of his followers to keep the sabbath (Mark 2:27).

No man is justified by the works of the old law. We are dead to the law of sin and death through the body of Christ, and our justification can only come through faith in Him who lives within us. (Rom 7:4; 8:1-6; Gal 2:16-21).

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days

When Christian denominations follow after those who teach fables, the Words of God and the doctrines of men become the words of great disunity. The identification of a Christian Cult, involves a system of religious beliefs and rituals that are not based upon spiritually discerned truths (2 Tim 4:3-4)

Christ criticized the scribes and pharisees for all of their vain rules regarding what could be done on the Sabbath. The wicked Judeans sought kill Jesus because he broke the sabbath and declared that God was his Father, making himself equal with God (john 5:8-24).
