Saudi Arabia’s General intelligence agencies, Khalid Bin Ali Al Humaidan met this past week in Israel to complete plans for a possible attack on Iran. At the same time, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman left his country on the 28th of February for a 21 day trip. King Salman brought along a 1500 member entourage consisting of many important members of the royal family.
The Saudi and Israeli military have been meeting secretly in Israel. They have been planning to possibly attack Iran around Purim which starts March 11th. The US military has deployed a 4500 member team consisting of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Combat Unit along with several ships to the Gulf of Aden and Red Sea to prevent Iran from being able to close the shipping traffic throughout the Strait of Hormuz. This marine group has been training with the Oman military for the last few weeks. Also a US flotilla departed its Arabian Sea base at Duqm in Oman and is sailing towards Bab Al Mandeb strait off Yemen’s coast.
Iran after hearing of the US flotilla’s departure deployed its Navy for Operation Velayat 95, which runs from February 13 to March 1, includes drills operating in an area of nearly 800,000 square miles from the Strait of Hormuz leading into the Persian Gulf, around the Saudi Peninsula to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait leading into the Red Sea. On February the 20th,Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi stated that the two countries Israel and Saudi Arabia, “imagine they can compensate for their numerous defeats and failures in the region by creating an international atmosphere against our country.”
