Randy DeSoto for Western Journalism reports, Former Utah Governor and 2012 Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman accepted an offer on Wednesday from President Donald Trump to be the United States’ next ambassador to Russia.
Jon Meade Huntsman Jr. (born March 26, 1960) is an American politician, businessman, and diplomat who served as the 16th Governor of Utah from 2005 to 2009, and as United States Ambassador to Singapore from 1992 to 1993, and China from 2009 to 2011.
The Ambassador of the United States of America to the Russian Federation is the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary from the United States of America to the Russian Federation.
