Iowa’s largest city sues over farm fertilizer runoff in rivers. Des Moines, Iowa, is confronting the farms that surround it over pollution in rivers that supply drinking water.

 

Florida aims to fight water pollution with a water-credit market. An essential cure for Florida’s ailing rivers and lakes is to prevent pollution related to sewage, storm water and other sources. The task is painstaking and expensive, which is why Florida wants to go statewide with a market approach that would have polluters pay.
