Apple underestimated the outstanding demand for its iPhone 4S when the company launched the handset in China for the first this month, according to Tim Cook, Chief Executive Officer of Apple.
“Actually, we presumed that we betted bold,” said Cook about the tremendous sale of iPhone 4S in China in a press conference held last week. Cook added, “We didn’t bet this high prior to the launch in China.”
Crowds gathered in swarm around oldest store of Apple in China on Jan. 13. The Apple’s shop in Sanlitun district of Beijing couldn’t open on the very first day. After Beijing police raid the area easing the pressure of the Apple’s Chinese customers, Apple made announcement about the suspension of iPhone sales at the stores in Beijing & Shanghai for ensuring safety at that moment in particular.
However, Apple is now offering iPhone 4S through online stores, Apple’s Hong Kong based carrier partner Unicom Ltd., and other authorized resellers.
