The one thing about Dell is the amount of choice you are offered with each machine. This time we are looking at the Precision M6700 Mobile Workstation, it is the 17.3 inch display model, with Intel i5 processor and AMD FirePro M6000 Graphics. But this is the entry level machine after discounts Dell are asking $1850 for it, but the further along you up the range the prices increase until you reach the ultimate model with a price tag after discounts of $5300, such a huge difference to consider for the buyer.
After that bombshell I suppose we had better take a closer look at what the base model offers, this version comes with the standard 17.3 inch HD+ display with Anti Glare, Premium Panel Guarantee and a 1600 x 900 of pixel resolutions. It will be running on the Microsoft Genuine Windows 7 Professional, No Media, 64-bit, operating system. Will be powered by the 3rd Gen Intel Core i5-3320M Processor with 2.6 GHz, 3M cache, which is upgradable to Intel vPro technology.
Graphics are coming from the AMD FirePro M6000 Mobility Pro Graphics card with a 2 GB of GDDR5. Internal memory is just 2 GB of DDR3 SDRAM at 1600 MHz, while storage offers just 320 GB of 2.5″ 7200 rpm hard disk drive (HDD). Connectivity comes in the form of two super fast connecting USB 3.0 ports, two standard USB 2.0 ports, plus there is one eSATA USB combo port, VGA & HDMI video out and the DisplayPort 1.2 option.
As normal with any Dell computer, the choice is massive, but the model features above is the entry level machine and this comes with a starting price of $2,200, but with discounts it drops to $1850 a saving of $350.
