The Atrix HD with LTE has officially been unveiled by Motorola.
AT&T users looking for a body style very similar to Verizon’s Motorola-made RAZR and RAZR MAXX will find the Atrix HD a suitable offering. Though, there is one minor difference between the VZW RAZR and the AT&T Atrix HD; the latter has a slightly more rounded structure, especially around the four corners.
Under the hood, you’ve got a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 4.5″ 720 x 1280 display, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of built-in storage (expandable with microSD cards), 8-megapixel (rear) camera and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. While the body size and shape of the Atrix HD is an almost carbon copy of the RAZR series on VZW, it sadly doesn’t ship with a battery as large as the RAZR MAXX — 1,780 mAh vs.3,300 mAh.
Really, Motorola. There is no reason that the Atrix HD (or any other higher-end offering of yours) should ship with anything less than 2,500 mAh of battery power. You showed us that it’s possible to shove a gigantic battery into a still thin phone housing. Considering the demands we place on our multi-core, LTE packing phones these days, battery power should definitely be a bigger focus than manufacturers appear to be giving it.
Mini rant aside, will you be getting one, dear AT&T customer?
